Honeymoons at Manyara Ranch for 2014

Honeymooners are encouraged to enjoy their Northern Tanzanian safari in the world-renowned safari parks of Serengeti and Ngorongoro viewing the stunning wildlife spectacle before visiting Manyara Ranch for the true romance of being ‘alone in Africa’ The perfect way to end the ‘safari’ section of their honeymoon. The ranch is a 35,000 acre game reserve with only six tents – so think privacy and exclusivity – a very special experience – to appreciate nature and wildlife at its very best, to create memories that will last for a lifetime and embellish the honeymoon with some well-chosen and spectacular activities. It is recommended that honeymooners stay on the ranch for at least three or four nights to really fully experience all there is to offer.

Honeymoon itineraries include

Sparkling sundowner

Following an afternoon game drive or walk – guests will be taken to a ‘very special’ private sundowner site on the ranch where cold sparkling wine and canapés are waiting. This will certainly be a memorable, magic moment as the sun goes down and the sky darkens and the stars come out.

Night game drive – just for two

After a romantic dinner for two board one of our open-sided safari vehicles – equipped with a spot light and go out into the bush looking for nocturnal animal and bird species. The Ranch excels in night-time species – but it can be a little chilly so you might have to cuddle close!

Private afternoon at ‘the hide’ with sundowners

After an afternoon siesta it is time to be driven out to ‘the hide’ – this has been constructed at the edge of one of our largest dams and allows guests to remain concealed whilst watching a dramatic spectacle of animals and birds coming to the water to drink and play. Drinks and refreshments are provided and the vehicle will return at sunset for the drive back to camp

Morning and afternoon guided walks

A early start or late afternoon, before or after the heat of the day is a perfect time to walk in the bush. Accompanied by an armed guide the whole splendour of nature is revealed – unforgettable game experiences on foot.

Romantic candlelight dinners

It’s a special time – so we provide the stars and the candles and a private table for two – some delicious food and wine – and a few African ‘night sounds’ to add to the occasion.

Surprise ‘turndown’ gifts each evening

Each evening you will receive a small ‘pillow gift’ as a keepsake of this very special holiday.

Maasai celebratory ceremony

Drive to the  periphery of the ranch to a Maasai village to celebrate your marriage in true Maasai tradition with dancing and singing – a wonderful and unusual photo-opportunity to rival any wedding photos.

Horseback safari for two

Another moment to remember as you ride through the bush – viewing animals from on high – and an opportunity to show to one’s partner equestrian skills that they may be unaware of!  *Riders have to be

Optional additional extra experience

Helicopter ride over the Northern Highlands

Be collected from camp by helicopter to fly high over the ranch and Lake Manyara towards the volcanic highlands of Ngorongoro and Empakai Craters and then to the Rift Valley seeing Oldonyo Lengai, an active

Volcano and Lake  Natron. At a selected high spot, land and take a champagne picnic  lunch. Enjoy the vastness of the Rift Valley before flying back to the ranch. This is certainly a day to remember.
