New manager for The Oyster Bay – Dar es Salaam

It might be seen as being careless to lose two managers within the space of a few months but sometimes that is just the way it goes and after losing Maretha Wentzel after six years managing The Oyster Bay we have now lost Jurgen Momberg after only six months!!! We are sorry to see Jurgen go as we thought he was settling in well, but late check ins and early check outs take their toll and he was anxious to get back home to South Africa.

Stepping in to the breach is Dimitra Tsimidopoulos – well known to many – having worked at The Oyster Bay since 1999 – mostly behind the scenes, pulling the strings, but has now been persuaded to take over the management of the hotel and be ‘centre stage’ a place where we think that she is eminently capable to be.

Greek by nationality, but born in Lubumbashi in Zaire, educated in Belgium

she has lived in Dar es Salaam since 1987. Fluent in Greek, French and

Swahili, (and of course English) Dimitra brings an international

dimension to The Oyster Bay management.
