Vamizi Island Lodge releases 2014 rates and updates 2013 rates

We are pleased to inform you that the published rates for 2014 and the updates of 2013 rates (for new bookings only) have now been issued – see links below.

There are a number of innovations for next year –in fact some of them start as from 23th June 2013 – all aimed at making booking of Vamizi Island a less complicated process.

KITALAS – In order to differentiate between the villas at Vamizi Island Lodge and the Private villas that are located on other deserted beaches on the island, it has been decided to introduce the new local Ki-mwani word of ‘kitala’ to describe the beach side bungalows of the lodge. These have now also been reduced to eight kitalas which, besides the individual one bedroomed kitalas, include three family kitalas (sleeping two adults and up to three children in two separate rooms sharing a living space) and a double kitala (sleeping up to four adults in two separate en suite rooms sharing a living space). CLOSED PERIODS – this is relatively new innovation but thought necessary to close the island during the historically low periods so that essential maintenance can be done and to allow managers and staff to take a break. Most guests think that Vamizi is like ‘heaven’ but without frequent breaks on the mainland our ‘angels’ can soon turn into ‘devils’.

2013 – closed dates

11th May to 22nd June / 2nd November to 6th December – all dates inclusive

2014 – closed dates

25th January to 28th February / 30th April to 20th June / 5th November to 12th December all dates inclusive.

SEASONS – With the introduction of closed periods it is no longer necessary to have Peak, Mid  and Low seasons – so a new one rate one season has been adopted. Noticeably it is a combination of the peak and mid season rate giving a substantial reduction to the 2013 peak rate in 2014. A number of special offer periods have also been introduced – see below.

CHILDREN’S RATES – Vamizi welcomes families and has three family kitalas ideally suited for either one or two adults and up to three children. The rates have been modified to

16 years and over pay adult rate

5 to 15 years pay 50% of adult rate

Under 5 years pays USD150 per child per night.

Note special family offer below.

SPECIAL OFFERS

Stay seven nights and get two of those nights free – this applies to certain ‘special offer periods’ see rates sheets for dates

Family Offer –  this now applies all year round (not just mid- season – 2013) and grants to families staying in a family kitala with two or more children (under 16 yrs) that the youngest child stays free of charge. When taken with the Stay seven pay five offer – these offers are now combinable  – it makes a real saving, especially in 2013 where the mid season rates apply.

Honeymoon Offer – this offer also becomes an all year around offer and no longer differentiates between bride and groom price, so on a seven night stay, one of those nights is free for both!!! In fact if they decide to travel within the special offer period then two of those nights are free. The honeymoon extras apply to all guests who are on honeymoon regardless of how many nights they stay.
